The British Safety Council

Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental Organisation

The British Safety Council is one of the world’s leading independent workplace health, safety and environmental organisations. It has up to 12,000 subscribing members in 52 countries. Members employ four million people - so the Council represents one in six of all employees in the UK.

It delivers 30,000 days of training a year at its training centre in West London, all around Britain and all over the world. Courses include the internationally recognised Diplomas in Safety Management and Environmental Management and a wide range of bespoke in-company training. The Council is also an approved assessment centre for the National Vocational Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Practice, which provides tangible evidence of health and safety skills and abilities in the workplace.

In addition, it conducts about 2,000 working days of audits and advisory visits in the workplace, including Five Star Health and Safety and Environmental Management System Audits, Safety Health Checks, OHSAS 18001 Compliance Audits and one-stop Risk Assessment Advisories.
