Fluid Warming Cabinets
These are used ion operating theatres to maintain fluids at or above body temperature so as to prevent shock and trauma to patients. It has also been proven that warming fluids prior to use in operating theatres can help patients recover faster from the effects of theanaesthetic and in greater comfort. Fluid Warming cabinets warm fluids in bottles or bags for use in the operating theatre. They are best used in conjunction with heated blankets. A list of scientific references is available.
Patient Warming Blanket Systems
It has been proven that during major operations patients can lose a lot of their body heat. It should be remembered that a reduction of just 2 degrees core temperature is classified as hypothermia – a condition that can severely delay patient recovery. This Patient Warming blanket system uses several blanket sections that are constantly kept warm so that any body heat loss is minimised and the patient maintains a ‘normal’ core temperature. The results of several medical trials is freely available.
Blanket Warming Cabinets
It has been scientifically proven in clinical trials that if a patient is kept warm after an operation they recover faster, in greater comfort and can be discharged sooner from hospital with fewer post operation infections. Bed blocking can therefore be reduced. This is obviously of great benefit not only to patients but also to the financial status of the hospital. Blanket warming cabinets warm hospital blankets to give warmth to the patient.
Fluid & Blanket Cabinets
There are occasions where a hospital requires both blankets and fluids to be kept warm in theatre. We offer several models of combined warming cabinets – two chambers that can control at different temperatures. The bottles of fluid are stored on shelves and the blankets in baskets.
Hospital Blood Banks
The 2008 range of VRB2 blood fridges incorporates all the specifications of BS4376 together with the latest MHRA requirements. In addition to all the usual facilities these hospital blood banks all have the ability to store data of up to 5 years temperature performance along with a full event history; all this can be printed out at any time and be downloaded to the departmental computer system. All blood refrigerators are shipped with a factory calibration certificate.
Platelet Incubators & Agitators
The 36-place platelet agitator operates at a steady 70 strokes per minute day in, day out. It is fitted with a motion alarm to alert the user if the platform becomes motionless for any reason. The 22c platelet incubator that accommodates the agitator is available in two versions – one has the traditional compressor for cooling, the other uses the very latest Peltier solid state cooling system that is silent in use. Larger incubators are available for use with multiple agitator installations.
Pharmacy and Hospital Refrigerators
This impressive MPR range of Italian styled hospital refrigerators is available with glazed or solid lockable doors and a choice of white or stainless steel exterior. Interiors are stainless steel on all models. The user can have a choice of storage on shelves although the slides out drawers are more popular. The PRO temperature controller keeps the user fully informed of all relevant cabinet functions as well as just temperature. Remote alarm connections can be linked to a switchboard or auto-dialler to keep the user informed at all times.
