Ambulatory Care - Glossary Term

Health services provided without the patient being admitted to a hospital. This is also widely known as outpatient care. Ambulatory care units include hospital outpatient departments, physicians' offices and home health care services, provided that the patient remains at the facility less than 24 hours.
