Remploy Healthcare Brings Optimo Tilt in Space Confort to The UK

Renowned mobility specialist Remploy Healthcare has been selected by global leaders Dupont Medical to exclusively launch the new innovative Optimo Confort Tilt in Space wheelchair to the UK and Ireland markets.

Ergonomically designed to provide maximum user comfort, the new Optimo tilt in space wheelchair features a unique tilting seat and backrest that are both fully adjustable through two separate actuators. Ideally suited for patient transfer the seat can be tilted forwards up to 4 degrees and backwards to 21 degrees, allowing greater flexibility in seat posture. Both extremely comfortable and simple to operate, the chair's handrims and rear wheels have also been positioned to make self-propelling even easier for the occupant.

Designed by leading French company Dupont Medical, the unique tilting mechanism of the chair provides complete stability, whatever the incline of the seat. The innovative, patented frame design also allows the width of the seat to be altered, with a minimum and maximum setting of 39cm and 51cm. Complete with removable, height variable full length padded arm rests, padded calf supports and a three-way adjustable head support that comes as standard, additional flexibility and improved comfort is provided by the chair's elevating leg rests that move in conjunction with the seat so that no further re-adjustment is necessary.

An extremely compact Tilt In Space wheelchair, the Optima Confort features a patented rigid aluminium frame that is yet lightweight enough to be easily folded and dismantled for practical, quick transportation. The chair has been successfully tested to meet the international standard ISO 7176/19, making it ideally suited for use in a motor vehicle.

The wheelchair has also been equipped with a special anatomic seat with a removable washable cover, that moulds to the contours of the body for improve comfort and performance. Available in a choice of Black Dartex, Black, Azure Blue and Camel upholstery, the new Optimo Confort is available with a choice of additional features including attendant operated brakes, lateral supports, anti-tippers, tray, IV pole and pommel.
