Operating from a purpose-built 6500 sq ft manufacturing facility in Barrow-in-Furness, Remploy Filters is widely regarded as a supplier of quality filtration products for contamination control and clean room environments, particularly within the hospitals and pharmaceuticals industries.

Manufacturing a comprehensive range of HEPA filters, soft filters, pre-filters, bag filters, pleated panel filters and media rolls, the business is fully supported by advanced testing facilities, including hot and cold DOP and air velocity testing.

HEPA filters

Remploy Filters is part of the UK’s largest employer of disabled people. With more than 80 factories strategically located throughout the UK, Remploy operates a number of diverse businesses, from a key supplier to the automotive industries, to producing household and toiletry products on behalf of many high street names. Remploy Filters was formed more than 25 years ago and has built its expertise around the supply of specialist and technically advanced products, accredited to ISO9001/2.

Remploy Filters

Innovation, allied to investment, continues to be the driving force; recently, an in-house development team has introduced a much-improved lightweight HEPA mini pleat filter, facilitating ease of installation, and comprising a 68mm anodised aluminium extrusion and a 50mm media pack. Ongoing research and development is leading towards the introduction of two new profiles incorporating 83mm and 150mm anodised aluminium options and a gel trap filter, all evidence of the company’s determination to remain at the forefront of its market. A recent spend of almost £150,000 has enabled Remploy Filters to acquire an array of leading-edge production machinery and ensure that operatives are fully trained in its use.

Innovation sits alongside an understanding of customers’ needs for both quality and service. Standard delivery times of three weeks from date of order can be shortened if required, and specially designed bespoke filters can be manufactured to the most stringent specifications, all backed by industry-recognised test certification.

For many years, Remploy Filters’ products have been used not only in the hospitals and pharmaceuticals industries, but also supplied to the nuclear, military, research, industrial and energy markets, for use in critical clean rooms to mechanical ventilation systems, laminar flow niches, fume cupboards and safety cabinets.

Remploy Filters

Key features of Remploy Filters include:

  • One of three UK rigs testing to BS3928
  • Achieving HEPA efficiencies up to 99.999%
  • Standard HEPA filters come with a choice of frames and component variants
  • VEE High and Mini HEPA models feature high capacity mini pleat construction for cost effective installation
  • All filters conform to BS5295 standards of environmental cleanliness in enclosed spaces and all products are individually tested and rated

Remploy Filters’ standard pleated product range includes the following:

HEPA Deep Pleat and Mini Pleat FiltersVaricell

Varicell is a series of robust medium and high efficiency rigid cell side disposable filters for removal of atmospheric dust. They are suitable for all HVAC applications ranging from industrial and commercial to gas turbines. They have low initial resistance, high dust holding capacity and come in a choice of efficiency ratings.

Multi Wedge HEPA Filters

The Multi Wedge range benefits from a galvanised steel or aluminium casing with vertical support bars. The filtration media features a 21mm uniform pleat height, sealed to the casing on all four sides by a two part semi-rigid polyurethane elastomer. With an efficiency rating from 90% to 99.999%, they are water repellent, flame retardant and anti-fungicidally treated.

HEPA Deep Pleat and Mini Pleat Filters

Generally for use in clean room and clean air device applications, efficiency ratings span from 65% to 99.999% at 0.3 microns. A variety of casings is offered, including MDF, galvanised steel and aluminium, incorporating AX4459HS glass media that is water repellent and flame retardant, and is anti-fungicidally treated. Featuring a polyurethane elastomer sealant, the range comes in standard and non-standard sizes manufactured to customer requirements.

Supamini Pleat FiltersSupamini Pleat Filters

The Supamini range is encased in a satin anodised aluminium structure, with sealed mitred interlocking corners for security and strength. Again, a water repellent, flame retardant, anti-fungicidally treated micron-glass medium is sealed to the casing on all four sides with a polyurethane elastomer to ensure operational efficiency. Protection grills are fitted as standard and sizes range from 150mm square to 762mm x 1830mm and 68mm deap.

The bag, panel and pre-filters range incorporates the following product lines:

Medium to high synthetic bags, F6-F9… manufactured from thermally bonded synthetic fibres, offering many benefits over similar bag filter types and grades:

  • Unaffected by extreme moisture or humidity conditions (other fibres can lose up to 20% of their efficiency when wet).
  • Synthetic fibres are extremely durable and resistant to damage caused by turbulent air or mishandling.
  • Fibre loft provides extremely high dust holding capacities for a longer service life.

REM/M range of medium/high grade glass bag filters, F6 - F8… available in three grades. Each provides a high degree of protection against staining contaminants, particularly the REM/M8 and REM/M9 grades.

  • All bag filters are fitted with side seal as standard to reduce the risk of air by-pass on side access systems.
  • REM/M bag filters are manufactured from microfine glass fibre material. Each pocket is divided into separate air channels by a sealed stepped stitch method, allowing total media utilisation.
  • Each pocket is supported on the clean side by a non-woven scrim, and the completed assembly is housed in a robust galvanised steel header.

Pleated Panel Filters G4… manufactured from a non-woven cotton/synthetic fibre supported by an expanded metal grid, with a 96% open area.

  • Due to velocity and inertial forces, large contaminants in the air stream are unable to change direction as the airflow moves up the sidewall of the pleat and so lodge in the bottom of the pleat.
  • Finer microscopic particles are trapped in the sidewalls.
  • Particulate build up is achieved as dirty air angles through the pleat, resulting in increased efficiency.
  • The element is housed in a robust card frame, and adhered to both front and back of the diamond grid construction to ensure that the pleat remain uniformly spaced. This provides minimum resistance and maximising media utilisation.

G4 - F5 Grade Synthetic Bag Filters

REM 30 (Grade G4) and REM 50 (Grade F5) bag filters are manufactured from thermally bonded synthetic fibres.

  • Consistent regularity of media structure ensures uniform efficiency over the total surface.
  • Fibres are graduated in density to enable total media utilisation throughout depth, thus providing high dust holding capabilities coupled with low resistance to air flow.

Synthetic Panel and Carbon Filters G2 - G3

REMG Disposable Panel Filters are manufactured from a continuously spun glass material that is graduated in density to enhance the dust collection throughout its depth. The element is housed in a robust card frame, the material adheres to both the front and back diamond grid construction to prevent media ‘sag’ or collapse.

  • REMG Panels are selected to provide protection against large particulate matter (5 micron and above), for general air conditioning or ventilation systems and alternatively as a pre-filter to offer protection for general plant equipment and extend the life of higher grade secondary filters.
  • REMG Panels are available in a wide range of sizes in depths of 12mm to 100mm (1/2” to 4”)

Medium to High Grade Pleated Panel Filters F5 - F8

REMH panels are manufactured from a blend of thermally bonded synthetic fibres to provide high air cleaning capabilities coupled with acceptable resistance levels. The fibre is pleated in conjunction with a wire mesh back-grid to provide the required media area consistent spacing and pleat stability. The completed element is sealed in an all-card or steel case.

  • REMH panels are designed for use in freestanding air conditioning (or computer room) units, where low resistance to air flow is essential.
  • REMH Panels are available in a range of standard sizes as detailed below in depths of 45mm (2”) and 97mm (4”).
  • Non-standard face sizes are available together with depths of 150mm (6”) and 290mm (12”) for special applications.
