Regulatory Compliance

The monitoring software is FMS; this is wholly owned, developed and controlled by Facility Monitoring Systems Ltd in the UK.

Software development is conducted according to the latest GAMP guidelines. FMS has been specifically designed for use where compliance to EU GMP annex 1 and US FDA cGMP is required.

FMS enables 21 CFR part 11 compliance. FMS is assigned GAMP category 4 as configurable software. The software is designed to meet the regulatory requirements of:

Ease of Use

The map screen allows for a physical layout view of the system and is beneficial when sat in front of or near to the computer display.

By left clicking on the any sample point in the status or map screen, data history for that point can be quickly accessed.

Reporting

The data can be viewed as multi trace real time graphs; reporting and printing data is simple and easy to do. The system is collecting and saving the data 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

FMS supports networked postscript printers.

Robust and Reliable Design

Facility Monitoring Systems Ltd has created an extremely reliable and user-friendly monitoring software suite for use in industry. This software complies with the regulatory guidelines to provide secure monitoring of all environmental parameters such as particle counts, temperature, pressure and relative humidity.

The distributed design of FMS means that large, complex systems can be seamlessly separated into smaller, more manageable systems resulting in increased reliability.

FMS can be installed as an embedded application on Microcomputer Systems.

A major benefit of the multi-node structure of FMS is the Buddy function. This feature uses one FMS system to monitor another system on the same network and, in the event of failure, resume control of data collection.

Peace of Mind

For a facility to function correctly, the process environment must be kept within the required operating parameters.

The benefits of such a monitoring system are:

• Ease of expansion - additional environmental sensors and particle counters can be easily added.
• Can be used as part of the Process Analytical Technology (PAT) initiative - real time data aids process improvement.
• Robustness - the computer can log data independently to a SQL server on the network (if configured). Should the connection to the SQL server be broken then the computer will continue to log data indefinitely on its own until the connection is re-established.
• Future proof - there is no limit to the number sample points FMS can monitor.

Communication

In addition to the main functionality of the monitoring software, on alarm events the FMS monitoring software is able to

• Send SMS messages.
• Telephone a key person with a recorded message which is mapped to a specific sample point or groups of sample points.
• Allow remote secure and full access to the monitoring system. (e.g. from home)
